Hi, the UNF range of nuts and bolts is getting harder to source, the majority coming directly from the States, we have a good stock range but on occasion we have to have some items made. This makes them more expensive than off the shelf types, we will always try to keep prices down, but as you know sometimes this is difficult.

UNC / BSW - ?
UNC is usually compatible with BSW, the only different one is 1/2", the rest are interchangeable. The only noticable difference between them is that the BSW have a slightly larger head size (for the purist there is a 5 degree difference in the pitch angle), which is not really significant.
The threads per inch are the same (except for 1/2").
Generally BSW and BSF was used on vintage and veteran English cars and motorcycles until the 1960s, after that and on American cars and bikes UNC (coarse) tended to be used, in conjunction with UNF (fine).
If you are unsure of any threads you can mail them to me in a padded envelope and I will identify them for you or just replace them with new ones.

Self-tapping screws, jubilee clips - narrow band and wide band. Fuel line clips - nut and bolt type and heavy duty clips - nut and bolt type for exhausts.
